Virgil's Real BBQ
our comments
With its faux-roadhouse setting, Virgil’s is about as close as you’ll get to authentic barbecue near Broadway. Locals, and especially tourists, hit this joint to enjoy starters like popcorn shrimp, hush puppies and crab cakes; massive entrée platters of pulled Owensboro lamb, Carolina pork shoulder, Memphis pork ribs and Texas beef brisket; and sides of baked beans, potato salad and cornbread; and rich peanut butter pie for dessert. There are dozens of beers and a moderate wine list. Given the location, don’t expect prices as low as you’d find at a real roadhouse down South.- April 2005

There is nothing wrong with food, its what I expected Southern BBQ food to be like, however the portion control guy left New York and headed back to the Southern States.
The atmosphere is great, enjoyed the experience but the size of the meals has put us off going back
