Like being at a bar mitavah, wedding and your grandma's house at the same time Sammy's serves up proper haimshe jewish food from the old country. Chopped liver mixed with shmaltz at your table, chicken soup with knedlach, lockshen pudding steaks smothered with garlic and hanging off your plate - even the dreaded calves foot jelly - all with a 'community' atmosphere. We loved it and will not only go back every time we're in NY but also tell everyone we know to go too!
