Harry Cipriani

I went here for my 40th birthday dinner with my partner on a Tuesday evening as it was just around the corner from my hotel. I am familiar with the London Cipriani and the setting is pretty much the same.
As the dollar rate was well in our favour, it made a change having to pay through the nose for a meal.
We arrived to a very busy restaurant at 8pm and it was so noisy that you more or less had to shout to engage in a conversation and you could pretty much hear what was being said from table to table as the conversations got louder and louder.
The service was good as usual, I guess my English accent was hard to understand as the bar person actually had to come to my table to see what drink I wanted as it was only a Coke !
The food was top notch, the waiters enticed us for desert, as for the bill we were overcharged but that was soon rectified with complimentary coffees, which wasn't a big issue.
As with the London branch this is the place to be seen, fortunately my partner is a stunning young lady so heads were turning left , right and centre but I can honestly say that this is obviously the 'check out' place to be, if you want to be seen and have idle chat to the creme de la creme of NY well to do.
Only downside was the restroom/toilet or bog as we call it over here in Limey land, which was in the basement of the hotel's gymnasium. For once in my life I had to queue (lineup) outside.
All in all, good fun and good eating. As with any Cipriani, book if you want a table or it is a long wait at the bar or better still just turn up with a celeb and the table is waiting there...............
