Epices du Traiteur

A nice little "hole-in-the-wall" just off the corner of Columbus, EDT was a pleasant surprise for a recent pre-theater dinner. The menu offers largely mediterranean fare (albeit with Tunisian names), similar to many Greek dishes. Their baby lamb chops were very good, and the sauce they were immersed in was spectacular. A shredded-chicken with vegetables in a pastry (similar to Greek exochiko) was also equally good. Salads and soups were pedestrian, but good. The service was extremely friendly and efficient. The main dining room is small, and tables are closely lined up with little elbow room. Try to get a table in the back patio if the weather is cooperative. Our dinner for two, with drinks, appetized and desert, came to about $85, not including tax and tip. This is a good spot for the Lincoln Center vicinity.
