our comments

Though not a bistro by any stretch of the imagination, Corner Bistro, located on an actual West Village corner, is a New York institution. It’s dark, grungy and loud, but it also serves one of the best burgers in town. Regulars slip into the scarred wood booths and order the Bistro Burger topped with bacon, cheese, onions and tomato. It’s served on a paper plate and is a delicious mess. There are a couple of other things on the menu, but we don’t know why anyone would bother ordering anything else. Every true New Yorker craves a Bistro Burger at least once a year. Fries and a draft beer are the usual accompaniments. It’s always packed, even late at night (it’s open until 4 a.m.), but you’ll have the great jukebox to keep you occupied while you wait for a table.
