Café Boulud
our comments
Paris 1930 came to Manhattan's Upper East Side in September 1998 when celebrated Chef Daniel Boulud opened Cafe Boulud, a warm and welcoming French-American venue for Manhattan's cafe society. The restaurant offers a menu and ambiance combining the best of French food and design in a casually elegant style. Named for the local cafe Daniel Boulud's family ran on their farm outside Lyon, France at the turn of the century, Cafe Boulud reflects the same spirit of conviviality that made the original spot a regular village meeting place. The restaurant is situated between Museum Mile and the fine art galleries and elegant boutiques of Madison Avenue, adjacent to the Surrey Hotel.- April 2005
