My two sisters and I were in New York City the week of December 5, 2005. We ate lunch at B. Smith's Restaurant Row and is was very good. The service was good and the atmosphere was also.

My friends and I came into Manhattan Wednesday evening. It is a yearly friends event: dinner in a nice restaurant and seeing the tree, the stire windows and the spirit of the season.

We decided to come to B.Smiths, having passed it several times on our previous visits to one of our favorite jaunts, Joe Allens.

So we decided to go. We had a half hour wait which was fine- actually not bad at all for time of year, time of evening etc.

Maybe it was an sign of better things to come, I thought.

I have never had a more terrible experience in a restaurant as I did that evening.

We were there well over two hours, with service, about the worse, spaces of time seemingly interminable in between ordering, and serving. And then when the main courses are finally served 4 of the 6 courses came with another 15 minutes for the other two courses to come and then one of those courses, salmon being raw.

Needless to say we left tghere, two people not eating and yet B. Smiths had the audacity not only to give us a bill but to take the gratuity for the waitress.

Let me say how very bad I feel because certainly we will never eat there again and unfortunatly I feel I have to warn friends who frequent restaurant row to avoid B. Smiths.
