Had dinner there last night. Liked the modern atmosphere. Service was excellent. The food was amazing BUT the portion sizes were like spit on a plate.

I had dinner here with two friends- not recommended. The restaurant was half empty, but as three women we were seated at a bad table for two, miles from anyone else. We were not impressed with the menu. Service was mediocre- no hostess when I arrived, slow to seat people, cold milk with my coffee, had to ask for sugar twice. It was a birthday celebration and they failed to bring the dessert with a candle. However, the food was nice and portions are human sized.

Dont waste your money or your time !!!!!! We went for afternoon tea $ 40.00 per person, Wanted a booth waited 20 minutes while they cleared three other tables until I asked a third time we were seated. The food was sub par at its best stale bread and I wont even get into the service issues. My daughter asked for earl gray tea and we she was given Decaf coffee told the waitress and 17 minutes later her tea came.In short dont get stuck in the maze of so so food and bed service five other places near by that are up to your expectations of a $ 150.00 meal.

I regret having dined at the New York location of Maze by Gordon Ramsay.
Service: Upon arrival, I was greeted by a hostess and the sound of her counting her pocket change. Clink, clink, clink. When she looked up and noticed I was there, she offered me a seat in the lounge while my table was prepared. Now, why would I have to wait for my table to be prepared when the dining room had only two other tables with guests during this slow lunch hour and I had made the reservation weeks prior? Any why did the hostess not convey to the lounge staff that I was not dining in the lounge before the lounge server came to take my lunch order? And finally, why was the wait in the lougne ten minutes when, again, the dining area was almost empty?
Food: Underwhelming. The beet salad was a great start, but it was all downhill from there. I can only imagine GR on 'Kitchen Nightmares' tasting the risotto that I was served: underseasoned, overcooked, flavourless. The 'warm chocolate fondant' (chocolate cake w/ molten inside) was nothing special, although the nut (sorry, I believe it was almond) icecream was interesting with the seasalt they added. The bill came with peanut brittle (horrible) and truffles (the waiter could have warned the inside was liquid to put the whole thing in my mouth before biting).
Atmosphere: At first glance decent, but nothing special. The benches that lined the walls had buttons stitched in to the leather with several of the buttons missing. Even though the restaurant had only been open about an hour when I used the washrooms, they were disgustingly dirty so I waited to use the washroom in my hotel room.
I could continue, but you get the picture. Even if you're a fan of GR, skip dining at Maze while you're in NY.

while visting New York from Ireland had wanted to bring my American relatives somewhere special so had booked lunch at the Maze, set price for lunch. Boy was it disappointing, food was awful, bland, very pretentious and not worth the money which by the way cost a hell of a lot more than anticipated. I would not recommend, yes staff were friendly but no more than you would expect in New York, was overall totally disappointed

I looked forward to this meal for months, visiting New York for the first time. I was very impressed. Though the room was a little noisy, at least it wasn't too formal or stuffy. It was surprising to see the bar near the tables, but we were far enough away not to be disturbed. The staff offered eye contact and knew their food. They were all immaculately turned out too which is a must. Four tasters and a dessert for myself and my partner, and everything was gorgeous. It's the nicest restaurant meal I've had so far. The wine was Michel Schlumberger and that was gorgeous. Full marks from me.

Very disappointing. Bar and restaurant are one with people walking in around the tables and the music is techno dance and so the ambiance is dreadful. It isn't so much that the food is poor but, please, an overpowering cauliflower puree, rum and raisin jus and delicate scallops? Or another example, a fillet steak smothered in a sort of hickory smoked BBQ sauce or sea bass with a vinegar soaked tomato salsa are not winning combinations. Some of the dishes were insanely over-seasoned. The mark up on some frankly average wines were the biggest I have ever encountered. I have eaten at The Maze Grill in Grosvenor Square and whilst it is a slightly different style of cuisine the quality of the latter surpases it's NY sister by a country mile. I have read several reviews raving about this place but I'm sorry, I just don't get it. At best it was average. We also ate at The Oyster Bar at Grand Central Station. The kitchen staff at the Maze should go there and learn how Ramsey's ethics of high quality locally sourced seasonal produce cooked to perfection should be put into practice. The waiting staff I have to say were excellent however.

Whilst in NY for Christmas we decided to have Christmas Dinner at Maze. We were not disappointed. We've tried numerous GR restaurants here in London but this is the first time we've enjoyed GR Stateside. The 4 course menu was excellent, the food was superb and portion size ample.
The staff were attentive and the atmosphere warm and friendly.
It is such a shame that other diners have not experienced such a wonderful evening - please try it again, you won't be disappointed!

This is a place that should be skipped! I went here with 4 other people and they gave us a table of 3...so the other people should sit on the floor? Besides sending us to a table that didn't properly seat all of us, it was our friend's birthday. We told the hostess and server to put a birthday candle on our friend's dessert when she orders one. Did they remember? NOPE! It wasn't even a busy night and NO ONE APOLOGIZED! They also add gratuity to your check, so they added $80 in gratuities to our $240 check! I don't mind paying for fine dining, but I think this is out of the league of nice restaurants like Boule in Tribeca. I would skip this restaurant!!!
