Balthazar
our comments
This bustling New York restaurant serving Parisian cuisine is just as trendy and popular as the other restaurants on this site, but it is much more affordable. Most entrées will run you less then $25. A dinner hot spot in Soho, expect this place to be packed. Chef’s Lee Hanson and Riad Nasr have garnered respect from their peers and it is likely you will spot another popular chef dinning here. To some it may seem Balthazar never closes since they have everything from a breakfast menu to a post midnight snacking menu. Dinner remains the most popular meal here so if you are looking to avoid the commotion of the evening rush, try this place at lunch or brunch on the weekends to see if this bistro lives up to its reputation.- November 2004

Came here for brunch on a Saturday with a few girlfirends and we all loved the experience. Reservations are a must, but once you get in (they won't let a party in unless all are actually present) it's worth the wait. The atmosphere is stylish but relaxed, high ceilings and tasteful decor. We had salads and different types of eggs and they happily accomodated all our dietary requests (I promise you there were many!). Coffee also very good - friedly staff and good prices and sometimes you can even spot the odd celebrity.....
