I went there for christmas , oh man that was the best steak i ever tasted the service is excellent but it is really expensive i suggest you save your money to go there cause i had to give the waiter a fifty dollar tip not including the 300 i spend for a dinner of four and it was just the main course but still it is an incredible steak .

I ate at the establishment in Bayside about a month ago. The hostess looked at us as we walked in like we were lost, and didn''t bother with us until we started walking to a table ourselves. The service was terrible. The waiter stopped by our table once, we ran out of water, the steaks were mostly fat. We were not offered additional bread and other options as others were. Basically were ignored and treated as we did not belong.

They do not stand behind their satisfaction guarentee either. I filed a complaint, which was read by the CEO, who promised to look in to the matter. That was 3 weeks ago.

I would recomend this establishment to no one. Do not waste your time and money.

I dined at Uncle Jacks on Thursday night (2/8) with three colleagues during a conference. The restaurant was recommended by the Affinia hotel and the concierge made reservations for us. It was nice to be expected when we arrived and we were treated very well by a full and attentive staff. (Three bus boys decruming the table). Unlike most NYC restaurants, the tables were far enough apart to be able to enjoy conversation. The wine list was extensive and we landed on an excellent bottle - Now for the the food -- prime cuts really are substantially better than your average steak and the sides did not dissapoint. There also was a small jazz group playing nice, low-key music to go to dinner.

Overall, I highly recommend Uncle Jacks. Once you get over the "out-of-towner" sticker shock of the menu proces you will be happy you went.

I had dinner tonight at Uncle Jack's with two family members from out of town. The steak and all other food was excellent. The service was was good. The waiter seemed to have a bit of an attitude though.

MY WIFE AND I VISITED NEW YORK IN LATE NOVEMBER 2006 FOR HER 40TH BIRTHDAY. WE WANTED TO EAT AT GORDAN RAMSAYS NEW RESTAURANT BUT IT WAS FULLY BOOKED. WE WERE RECOMMENDED UNCLE JACKS BY THE CONCIERGE AT THE MILLENIUM HOTEL ON BROADWAY. SHE SAID THAT THIS WAS NEW YORKS EQUIVALENT WITH "FIVE STARS" BEING AWARDED RECENTLY FOR FOOD AND SERVICE. I CAN ASSURE YOU THAT THIS RESTAURANT IS FAR FROM EQUAL TO GORDON RAMSAYS.IT WAS VERY DISSAPPOINTING. WE HAD TO WAIT FAR TOO LONG FOR OUR FOOD AND WERE GIVEN ALL MANNER OF EXCUSES. THE MANAGER SAID HE WOULD PAY FOR OUR DESSERTS AS A GOODWILL GESTURE WHEN IN FACT THE MILLENIUM HOTEL HAD ALREADY PAID FOR THE DESSERTS AS A PRESENT TO MY WIFE (I DON'T THINK THE MILLENIUM WERE MEANT TO TELL US !). I THINK THE ICING ON THE CAKE WAS WHEN THE WAITER CAME TO ME WHILST WAITING FOR A TAXI AND EXPRESSED HIS DISSAPPOINTMENT IN ME NOT LEAVING HIM A 20% TIP ???.

We were totally looked after by the maitre 'd' (Howard). He made sure we had the complete gastronomic evening New York style.

The steak should have been listed on the menu as "melt in the mouth". It was that yummy. Garlic mashed potatoes and creamed spinach was to die for.

Uncle Jack's wasn't just a meal, it was an experience.

If in NYC you must go!!
